You Can Join Me In Basic Mindfulness Exercise

I will share with you two short and very basic breathing techniques, which can help you to relax a little.

Find yourself in a comfortable position. You can sit or lay down on your back.

Place your hands on your belly and focus on your breathing. Notice the air coming through your nose, going all the way down, and feel your belly rise.
Breathe out slowly through your mouth and feel your belly fall.

Keep your focus on your breathing. If your mind starts to wander, just notice your thoughts, name them and move your focus back to your breathing.

You can continue breathing at your own pace.

If you want to achieve deeper relaxation, try the 4:7:8 technique.
Inhale and count to 4. Slowly hold your breath and count to 7 and then slowly exhale for a count of 8.

Continue breathing this way for one minute.

I’ve recorded today’s breathing session, so you can just relax and enjoy if you prefer an audio guide.

As you probably know, English isn’t my native language and I can only practice by writing, speaking, and failing some more. I hope you’ll still get something out of it as did I.

If you’re looking for my older audio “sessions”, I’ve already removed them from a blog and I apologize for that. It was one of my old emotional reactions which I’m not proud of. They are still available on Soundcloud.

These are just some of the many mindfulness exercises I use on a daily basis. I practice this alone or with my partner.

What about you, how often do you practice mindfulness or other meditation techniques?

Thanks for sharing these relaxation breathing techniques, dear Maja. You also have a very pleasant voice, which I’ve enjoyed listening too. βœ¨πŸŒΊπŸ˜™
